INDEPENDENT TOOL · SOURCED ESTIMATE

Before choosing an air conditioner, check whether it makes sense for your room.

ClimJuste estimates a cooling-capacity range, explains every adjustment, and may advise you not to buy a portable air conditioner.

CAPACITY ESTIMATE

Describe the hottest room

The estimate starts with the ENERGY STAR room-size table, then shows every adjustment. ADEME notes that single-hose portable units are often less efficient and noisier.

18–24 °C

This range is not a heat-load calculation, a temperature promise, or an estimate of electrical consumption.

Method and official sources

A number is only useful when its limits are visible.

01

Capacity, not consumption

BTU/h describe how much heat is removed. They do not directly state electrical input power or running cost.

02

Exhaust setup comes first

A hose passed through a partly open window lets hot air back in and sharply reduces the value of a single-hose unit.

03

No false precision

The result is an indicative range. An open-plan or unusual room requires a more complete assessment.
